Absences - It is requested that if your child/ren are going to be away from school that you contact the school before 9.00am, Our phone number is 03 768 9096, Our text number for absences is 027 768 9096. When using a text to record an absence please include your name and your child's name. That will allow us to accurately identify which child is absent. We conduct an attendance check early in the morning. If the school has not been advised of an absence we will contact the parents. This attendance check is conducted purely out of concern for the safety of pupils/your children; however we do also need to be given a reason for the absence. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
Accident and Illness - In the event of accidents or sickness at school the school will proceed as follows:
Children are made comfortable and first aid is rendered if necessary
Parents are contacted by ringing home or emergency number (supplied by parents) to arrange for the child to be taken home. It is important to note that no child is sent home unless contact is made with an adult who is prepared to care for the child. If parents or emergency contact people cannot be contacted the principal may arrange for the child to be taken to a doctor or hospital if necessary.
Note: It is very important that the school is kept informed of current contact numbers, including work contact numbers. Experience has shown that (a) children often do not know where a parent may work, and (b) they will fret badly (especially younger children) if we cannot contact parents.
Child and family information - It is requested that any information given to the school at the time of enrolment be kept up to date. In the interest of your child's welfare it is important that we know of any changes to contact numbers (both home and emergency) and custody arrangements.
